Experience
I enjoy sharing my knowledge with other students, whether through volunteer teaching, tutoring, or mentoring. I worked as a Research Technician at Children's National Medical Center in Washington, D.C., mentoring high school students in biology, lab processes, and analyzing data. I approached my teaching in ways that fostered full comprehension and the students went beyond execution of projects to being able to present the results and their significance to other researchers. While studying at Georgetown University, I secured a role as a lecture note taker for other graduate students. I fielded questions on many subjects, created study material, and used my skills to make complex material easier to manage. At UCLA I developed and presented study sessions, a similar role to one I had during high school, where I tutored students in Mathematics, English, foreign languages, and science courses. I realize the impact a good teacher can have on a student and my goal is to have a very positive effect in the classroom. I strive to be sure my students push for excellence, as well as glean a strong appreciation for the essence of a subject and not as simply a vehicle for a score. Outside of class I enjoy anything outdoors, as well as writing and piano.
