I'm a Danish immigrant, married to an American citizen, and have recently moved to Vienna, VA. I have a Master’s of Science (M.Sc.) in Geography and International Development from University of Copenhagen in Denmark. Although I am not a certified teacher/tutor I have many years of teaching experience from both my professional work life and my private life: I have taught Math as a substitute teacher in a Danish Elementary School; I have helped immigrant children with their homework; I have trained and taught adults and teens overseas in various topics (Social Science; English; Sports; Swahili; Computer skills; Elementary Math, etc.). Furthermore, I have taught children, teens and adults ‘Capoeira’ (a Brazilian Martial Art) in several different countries over the last 7 years. Finally, I am father of two young boys (3 and 6 years old), and I help my oldest son on a daily basis with his reading, writing and math. I enjoy teaching and I enjoy experiencing when I see a student understanding something new that he/she didn’t grasp before. I am convinced that anyone can learn anything they want to, given enough time, patience and appropriate instruction. I work closely with parents to make sure that I cover all the areas of study where students need it the most and I never bill for a lesson in which the student or parent is not completely satisfied with. If you're looking for someone to make the effort to understand what you need and where you're coming from, and use that understanding to tailor lessons specifically to your needs, I just might be the tutor for you.
